The Kahnawà:ke Beadwork Oral History Project

Beadwork is a skilled artform that for centuries has played a vital economic, social, political, and cultural role in Kahnawà:ke.  The Kahnawà:ke Beadwork Oral History Project seeks to collect, preserve, and share our community’s stories and records related to this important dimension of local history and contemporary life.  We invite Kahnawa'kehró:non of all ages to tell and record their individual and family beadwork stories and submit them to this collection.  The materials collected for the project will be archived and made publicly available for personal enrichment, historical preservation, and scholarly research.
